DYSON, Arthur Perhaps Ipswich, ENG
Posted by: Helen Dyson Radomske Date: December 14, 1998 at 15:55:30
  of 1217

Immigrated to Canada about 1878 - 1887, as an auditor for the Hudson's Bay Co.He then joined the Northwest Mounted Police. He married Florence Ella Hudson in Canada, had 7 children,5 born in Canada and 2 in South Africa. Then in the early 1900's he served in the South African Constabulary. He died there of appendicitis and Florence and children returned to Calgary, Alberta. Dampier was a commonly used middle name. Thomas Dyson(Ispwich Eng?) was the father of Arthur and perhaps with the Bengal Lancers. My grandfather Terance Dampier Dyson made reference of a "Damnation Tom", probably his grandfather. Gerald was Arthur's brother and served with the Bengal Police.
I do not know if Arthur had other siblings nor what his mother's name was. If anyone has pertinent information with regards to Arthur and his family, I would appreciate it.
