Sue, My ggg grandfather James Alexander died in Randolph County, MO in 1845. While James Alexander grew up in the Garrard Co., KY area (he married Elizabeth Logan, daughter of Timothy Logan, there in 1804), I believe he may have been born in Mecklenburg County, NC and the son of Samuel Alexander and Sarah Balch. Interestingly, Samuel Alexander purchased land from John Bertrand Dysart in 1781 (see first deed below), which was later sold by his widow Sarah in 1788 (see second deed below). I was curious if you have any information on a possible connection between the Alexanders and Dysarts? There were many Alexanders in the Mecklenburg Co., NC area, and I have yet to connect Samuel Alexander. I have always wondered if Samuel could be related to the Dysarts by virtue of him buying the land from John Bertand Dysart in 1781. Thank you.
