Dynes family in Bedfordshire
Hi
Me and my Dad are new to this but thought we would add something and hopefully find out some information.
My grandad Stanley Turnbull Dynes was born in Bedford in 1901. He was the son of Thomas Dynes an agricultrual engineer. They lived for some time in the village of Cople and he was the youngest of a family of 12 (roughly)One of his brothers was called Jecossa (not sure of the spelling!)
I believe the family originally came to the UK from Ireland and were perepatetic agricultural engineers.
Stanley spent 22 years in the regular army serving with the Beds and Herts regiment and was in Burma during World War Two including the death railway and the bridge over the river kwai.
If any of this sounds familiar to anybody please leave a post! Thanks
