Pierce Dynes, born in 1872, came to NY on the ship Anchoria via Ellis Island on Aug. 28, 1893. He married Emily Lindsay who came to NY on the ship "City of Berlin" on Oct. 19, 1889. Emily's father was James Lindsay and her mother was Ann Jane Guy. Pierce Dynes died in 1931 and Emily died in 1952, both are buried in Amsterdam, NY. Pierce Dynes' daughter, Anna Jane Dynes, married Harry Tolson. One of their children George Pierce Tolson married Phyllis Charron and their eldest son (my husband) is Pierce Wayne Tolson. The Lindsay, Tolson, Dynes, McKnight families are large and interconnected in Amsterdam, NY. Howard Dynes married Margaret. I believe Pierce Dynes' father was John or Samuel and his mother was Anne or Hannah Campbell. Some of my research show Emily Lindsay & Pierce Dynes were from Guilford, County Armagh, Ireland. Hope this is of some help. If I can be of further assistance let me know. I would appreciate any info on these families.
