My Ballydougan Margaret ADAMSON,b 1827, daughter of Robert, married an Unknown DYNES. Margaret then had 2 daughters, Martha DYNES (1869-1951) and Mary. I don't know if Abraham DYNES is also an offspring or not, but he is not on the Adamson tree and did not emigrate with the family.
Martha married John SOMERVILLE, probably of Ballydougan or Bleary. She had children Annie (1891-1954, and William George (1889-1961) who used the name "George." When John died, Martha, Annie, and George went to Amsterdam, NY (probably seen on the Ellis Island site about 1907.)
George married Edna DOAK. Edna's father had been from either Ballydougan or Ballynagarrick and her mother is probably from a Bleary family. Annie married John McKNIGHT whose father, David, was from Ballynagarrick. David had married Mary LINDSAY married in Knocknamuckley.
A second Irish Dynes family in Amsterdam, NY :
Pierce DYNES b. 1872 emigrated in 1892,93, or 94 to Amsterdam, NY and married Emily LINDSAY, daughter of James and Ann Jane Guy who are also connected to the Tullylish area. Pierce had sons James R. DYNES who married a Ballydougan WILSON and Howard who probably did not marry. I can not trace his daughter Anna DYNES.
Do you know which Dynes Margaret Adamson married and who Pierce Dynes's parents were? It looks like he is from Tullylish.
The tree indicates that Mary Dynes married and had at least one girl. Do you know about this family? I wondered about some Dynes who seemed to live on property near the Ballydougan school which seems to be land originally leased by Margaret Adamson's father, Robert. However I was advised not to follow the house numbering scheme on the censuses literally.
