Hi Ken,
just thought I'd through a spanner in the works with yet another John Dynes from Glencoe, Armagh. born circa 1834, married December 1855 Tartaraghan to Sarah Mackle born circa 1836 in Derrykerb her parents - Joseph Mackle and Anna Maria Hendron.
Shipping list to Australia
Dynes F age 24 arr Nov 1861 on Elizabeth A Bright
DYNES JOHN age 22 arr June 1856 on Atlanta
DYNES SARAH age 19 arr June 1856 on Atlanta
Dynes William age 26 arr Aug 1858 on Kent
Dynes William age - arr Aug 1858 on Kent
Sarah and John being my gggrandparents,
have lots of info at this end but can't seem to connect with John's lineage in Nth Ireland.
Have been to the church where they may have been married in Lurgan and seen the Mackle property in Derrycerb and know that all the places mentioned are within walking distance of each other so there MUST be more information. I had heard that some of the children of Sarah and John went to Canada and NZ but not sure of this.
Their children born in Australia were
Joseph - my ggrandfather - 1856
John - 1860
Emily/Amelia - (same person?) - 1858
Phillip - 1862
Richard - 1864
Sarah Mary - 1866
Ellen - 1868
Alexander - 1870
William Arthur - 1873
Ann Maria - 1875
Sarah Elizabeth - 1877
Hoping there is somone out there to share this info with
Jen
