The Bureau County, IL marriage certificate for Harry E Dykeman of Amboy, Lee Co, IL and Bertha M Woodward of Princeton, Bureau Co, IL, dated 29 Sep 1888, lists father of Harry Edgar Dykeman as Simon Dykeman and mother as May (or Mary) Johnson. The information on the license indicates Harry was 27, which would put birth date about 1861. Birth place is listed as Iowa.

1880 US Federal Census for South Dixon, Lee County, IL has listing for M. J. Dykeman (female) with 2 sons, Frank E Dykeman born about 1859 in IL, and Edgar H Dykeman born about 1861 in IA. I believe Edgar H may be Harry Edgar Dykeman.

As Mr Wright's note indicates, 1850 US Census for Broome County, NY lists a Henry & Susan Dikeman with children of Simon (probably stepson for Susan), Abram, Edger, Mary J, Mariah. Neighbor is George Dikeman, also probably stepson to Susan.

History book of Tama County Iowa states a Simon Dykeman was part owner of a grist mill between 1857 and 1861.

I have quite a bit of information on heirs to Harry Edgar. Would be very interested in any information on ancestors.

Harry Edgar is my great grandfather.
