I just found your July 13 post today. This is very interesting. I'm the grandaughter of the 5h child, John R., you listed under Christopher Rankin. Dora Jane Thomas was my grandmother. My daughter has the name of Sydney Gordon. However, in my family bible it was spelled "Sidney" so that's the way my daughter's name is spelled.
I don't have information other than this line. I would love to know what you have. I found a website with a brief history of the six Dyess brothers, printed part of it and AOL kicked me offline. I've never been able to find it again. Can you tell me where it is.
