It seems that since Henry's name was misspelled DIGH on the 1800 census which is an old English Spelling, that some descendents kept that spelling while most of them went with the DYE spelling.
Our Family always used DYE which I believe is correct. But of course, not read or wrote back then so they spelled like they knew.No one could read it to correct it.
John died in Grundy CO TN after 1870
Ailey died in Bledsoe CO TN after 1880.
My Family came to Missouri about 1872.
They settled in the Bootheel along with some of the other brother's kids, except Gilberts who went to Ozark CO the rest were in Dunklin Co---- Holcomb area.
