I am 32 years old, and I have been interested in learning about the history of my name for quite some time. I have talked to my dad about where we come from, but he doesn't know much before my branch moving to this area from the shanandoah valley region of Virgina. I met a Dwyer one random night in a bar, and we started talking about our past. He told me that around the 1500-1600's our family was one of the first called to defend the kings castle when it came under attack. Is this true? I found the site www.dwyerclan.com and i have started to learn more, but if there is anyone out there that can help me learn more about our family, and how to find out when and where my ancestors came to the US; I would be very appreciative. Thanks in advance for any help I recieve.
