Hello Cousin! I am not quite sure where to start. Your ancestor Louis Duval and his wife Laura Virginia Burch were both brothers and sisters to my ancestors George Washington Duval Jr. and his wife Anna Teresa Burch. The brothers married sisters in Augusta where the Duval and Hack families had settled to set up the Richmond factory which was a major producer of cloth in the south and the very first in the state. I have a bunch of info on this but I can tell you that the Hack family is descended from Peter Browne who came over on the Mayflower and that is documented. George Washington Duval senior was reknowned for his technical ability and has a connection with the establishment of Georgia Tech. George Washington Duval Jr. was a methodist preacher and was extremely powerful in the establishment of methodist campgrounds and churches around the turn of the century. He and his wife Anna are buried in my home town, Social Circle Georgia.. In fact I have his sermons and My children are the sixth generation from him to attend the church here. I have a lot of info on this line and all is documented in UDC,DAR and Colonial Dames. The names, George, Virginia and Louis all came down as well as the Burch and Duval names. George and Louis had a third brother Robert who was killed in the Battle of Jonesboro in the Civil War. I have a lot of his papers. I also have a lot of pictures. The change in spelling of Duvall to Duval happened with George and Louis. Notice how I spell it Louis, that is the way his mother and brother spelled in in Bible records. Louis also served in Ga House of representatives after Civil War and eventually moved to N.C. and was superintendent of Cannon Mills at the time of his death. I must send this now and will tell you more later. What do we know about the other brothers and sisters of George Washington Duval Sr. husband of Rebecca Avis Hack?
