Sorry guys, you are all wrong. According to the E! Online Fact sheet and several biographies on the web, his birth name is ROBERT SELDEN DUVALL and his father is WILLIAM HOWARD DUVALL, a career military officer.

He has two brothers, neither of whom are actors.

He was born in San Diego and raised in Fairfax Cty, VA.

Perhaps some of the Duvall researchers out there can tie him into a family.
