Joe,

According to the naturalization papers of Alexander Duvall of Rutherford County, NC, he was born April 15, 1804 in Montrouge, France, which is in the southern suburb of Paris. He came to America at the age of 33, and he was a "man of good moral charecter" according to his petition for citizenship.
I have been unable to find the ship records at this time. I have not found a connection between him and the Alexander Duvall who was on the 1800 census of South Carolina.
