Hi!
I've been putting off working very seriously on this line for some time now, but now is better than never...
I am probably related somehow to your DeVault/Duval lines, I believe, via marriage of Mary Ann DeVault to John Six in Washington Co., VA. They and their children's families were in Ohio Co., KY from the 1810's until the late 1820's-early 1830's or so.
Mary Ann's brother may have been David DeVault (etc etc etc on spelling) of Grainger and Hawkins Co., KY (who married into the celebrated GUEST/GIST family) and may have transported to Alabama, rumor has it.
Nicholas DeVault (etc) married Sally (Sarah?)
MITCHELL and came to Morgan Co., IL in the 1820's before I lose track of him; possibly another brother or nephew of Mary Ann?
I am interested in all aspects of this family (who also intermarried with the TAYLOR family of Ohio & Grayson Cos., KY).
I'd be greatful for any help folks on this forum might extend my way. And I'd be glad to share what info I have.
Let me know if I'm 'on the right tack' re: DUVAL/DeVAULT.
