Hello:
Here is some info I received about two years ago. If the info is no longer current, e-mail me (crlawson@erols.com)and I will try to find updated info:
---------------------------------------------

The Duvall Society was founded in 1926 and is composed of descendants of Mareen Duvall the Emigrant. We have had over 900 members and currently have over 500 members. The annual dues and application fee are $8.00. You will need to prove your connection to a current member, to a line which is contained in Newman's book, or show proof of a new line. We have one annual meeting each October held in Maryland. This year it will be held at St. Thomas' Church in Croom just south of Upper Marlboro in Prince George's Co., MD on Saturday, Oct. 24th. I can send you an
application and brochure if you like.

You may obtain a copy of Mareen Duvall of Middle Plantation by Harry Wright Newman which we have had reprinted twice if you are interested. Order from our president Mr. Orlando Ridout, IV, 1021 White Hall Cove, Annapolis, MD 21401. It is $40.00 postpaid, and is an exact hard-bound copy of the original 1952 edition.

We do not have any other published books, but there was a book published in 1991 entitled Excavations at Mareen Duvall's Middle Plantation of South River Hundred by William P. Doepkens. It has 237 pages, 8-1/2 X 11 inch size, with index, many pages of photos of artifacts found in the excavation, aerial photos, diagrams and drawings of the farm, etc. It does not contain genealogical material as such. Mr. Doepkins lives on and farms a major part of the Middle Plantation which is along the north side of US 50 at the intersection of MD 424, Davidsonville Road,
in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The book is $40.00 postpaid, and you can order it from Mr. William P. Doepkins, 2657 Davidsonville Road, Gambrills, MD 21054.

Sincerely,
Barrett L. McKown
