Searching for information on Michel Francois Duval born around 1767/69. We have found land records in early Louisianna records showing claims he filed that indicate he was in Louisianna as early as 1802. He attempted to claim land adjacent to his father-in-law, Jean Baptiste Saulnier (also spelled Sonnier). Michel Francois Duval married Felecity Saulnier in Assumption Parish, La. Jean Baptiste Saulnier immigrated to LA from Nova Scotia with the early Acadian exiles. We are trying to find when / where Michel Francois Duval came into LA. We would appreciate any help you may be able to provide us.
