Hi! A friend asked me how she could find out more info. on her father's family, so here goes! Her father was born Leonard Duval/Duvall (?) on Oct 6, 1908. His parents separated when he was about 5 years old. His mother kept the baby and the oldest child and sent her other children (4-5?) to the Salvation Army Orphanage in Oklahoma City. Leonard was adopted when he was 7 by a family named Oser. He worked on the family farm and enlisted in the army at age 16. Years later, during WWII, he met another soldier in Europe who had a similar story; he was sure this was his brother. They made plans to meet but one of them was shipped out unexpectedly. Does any of this story sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed further? Thanks so very much! jzuckerman@ LBCC.edu
