Thanks for answering my message. Your information and mine are the same. I have heard some other theories that I can't confirm and these people offer no references except that they are logical to them, however, I have found that sometimes they are not even stating the correct 3 brothers but namesakes.
Like you I will continue to look for referenced material.
I have lived in Sulphur Springs, Texas for the past 6 years and before that I lived in Dallas Texas.
I am the 3rd Great-grand daughter of William Henry Duty born April 12, 1801 in Sumner Co., Tennessee and died June 30, 1876 in Golinda, Falls Co., Texas. He is buried in Harris Cemetery, Rosenthal, McLennan Co, Texas. His wife Nancy Ann Jones born January 16, 1814 in Kentucky and died April 28, 1900 in Golinda, Falls Co., Texas is also buried there. I am descended through their daughter Mary Jane Duty born November 20, 1843 in Hempstead County, Arkansas. Mary Jane married James Oscar Whatley born Morgan Co., Georgia and died bef 1910 in Texas. Their son Thomas Oscar Whatley born March 12, 1879 in Falls County, Texas and died November 01, 1931 was my Great-grand father. He is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery, Ft Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas; Lot 81 Sec. 4E as is his wife Mary Lou Luttrell Whatley.
