I have been helping my friend Debbie concerning her Dutton's back to William Allen Dutton.
We have a copy of the Dutton book as well as Abe Dutton's "Memories".
William Allen married Elizabeth Harriet Crook per the Dutton book December 26, 1865 in Chattooga Co., GA. I have not found this marriage record.
Both were married before,her to a Glenn, William,the book or Abe Dutton did not say. The Allen in the 1860 census with the Green family is not William Allen.

I have written a few people to ask about some proof on the marriage record for William Allen & Harriet and if someone has sent for his military records. So for no answers.
I have the census records for Harriet with GLENN listing a son name George born abt.1857. The book and Abe did not mention him.
In the 1880 census with William Allen & Harriet is a little boy name Albert born abt 1877, he is not mentioned again.
I have done some work on the Glenn family, I think I have enough documents to say he died in the civil war.
Some of questions were addressed above. I do have more questions.
Where were the Glenn girls in 1870, Harriet was married to William Allen by then?

I have tried to search the Becky Abe talked about, no luck.
I have a theory of why we cannot find anything on William Allen's parents. I would think his Military papers would shed light.
