Merrill--better late than never-- 11 years after your original posting! I am a descendant of Chauncey Duryee of Rochester NY (he was my GGG-Grandfather on my father's side) and I have done extensive research on the Rochester Scale Company founded by Chauncey Duryee, the Duryee & Forsyth Scale Co. and their business history in the Rochester/Monroe County area. I have not uncovered any familial relationship between Chauncey Duryee and Orrin Forsyth, but found that Chauncey took Orrin into partnership in 1844. Sadly, Chauncey died of TB in 1856 (Rochester's Mt. Hope Cemetery records and related Death Records of Monroe County, NY), which pretty much destroyed this Duryee branch financially as far as I can determine. The firm continued, with other partnersbrought in. I have more info if you wish to see it, so please email through this forum.
Best regards-
Julie
