Seeking additional information on the descendants of this Duryee couple.

Surnames in this query include: AMMERMAN, BIGSBY, BOGART, CLAPP, CONKLIN, CRANSTON, CROZIER, DELAVAN, FIGER/FOSS, HALL, JACKSON, LAMPHERE, MOORE, ROBERTS, RUSSELL & WHITNEY.

William Rynex Duryee and Lanah Conklin, of Livingston County, New York.

Their issue:

7-421. Helen M. Duryee, suppose born 1821, died 10 February 1903, buried at Owasco, New York, married Peter AMMERMAN. Listed first among the children in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda, which provides the husband's name and noted in the public notice of probate on her father's will to be living then in Owasco, Cayuga County, New York.

7-422. Elizabeth Duryee, born 1822, died 6 April 1867, married Egbert BOGART. Listed second among the children in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda, which provides the husband's name. The probate notice published in The Nunda News and the aforementioned power-of-attorney to J. C. Duryee, refer to Mrs. Etta E. DELAVAN, who appears either to be Elizabeth Duryee, or her daughter, the child of Egbert Bogart. As has been noted, some of the Bogart progeny are in Chicago in 1886, to wit, Etta E. DELAVAN, Charles E. BOGART and Clarence G. BOGART, Others mentioned in the probate notice include Francis BOGART, of Telluride, Colorado, and presumably the "Althea Annette, Fort Lee, New Jersey," who appears to have had her surname or married name inadvertently left out of the notice.

7-423. Gertrude Sarah Duryee, born 1826, died 9 April 1891 at New York City and buried at Nunda, New York, married Chester J. MOORE. As noted, this daughter is not enumerated among the family in the 1850 census of Nunda. However, in the list of children provided in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda, she follows the daughter Jane. In the public notices regarding probate of her father's estate, she is styled Sarah G. Moore, of New York City, NY. No issue.

7-424. Jane A[bigail?]. Duryee, born about 1824, per the 1850 Nunda census wherein she is listed in her parents' household as "A. Jane Duryee, aged 26." Stated in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda to have married Aaron HALL, of Tuscarora, New York. In the 1886 notices of probate on her father's estate, she is styled "Abbie J. Hall, of Essexville, Michigan.

7-425. Catherine Adelia "Delia" Duryee, born 9 November 1830, died about 7 October 1903, St. Cloud, Stearns County, Minnesota [from the Oliver homepage, passim], married Andrew Joseph RUSSELL, born 20 March 1829, Walpole, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, died 22 September 1902, New York, New York. Public notices on probate of her father's estate refer to her as Adelia C. Russell, of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Two daughters Cora RUSSELL and Hattie RUSSELL. Not living with her parents in 1850 and presumably with a home of her own at that time.

7-426. Caroline Celesta Duryee, born 26 February 1832, date of death not discovered, but apparently alive in 1895, as below, married Allen F. WHITNEY. Public notices on probate of her father's estate refer to her as Celesta C. WHITNEY, of Wiscoy, Allegany County, New York. This information is enhanced by the Whitney Genealogy, which states on pages 220/1 and 399 that Allen Fargo WHITNEY was born in Warsaw, New York, 28 April 1833, was living in Wiscoy, New York in 1895 when this genealogy was published, son of William Graves WHITNEY and Lydia MARCHANT. The following children are ascribed to Caroline Celesta Duryea and Allen Fargo Whitney: Francis Whitney, born 18 September 1857, died 1863; W. W. Whitney, born 20 January 1861, residing in Rochester, New York in 1895; Luella Whitney, born 18 December 1862, married 1883, nfi, Amanda H. Whitney, born 10 March 1865, married 1890, nfi; and Mattie Whitney, born 19 August 1875.

7-427. George Monroe Duryee, born circa 1828, died 2 October 1902, married Esther CRANSTON.

7-428. Martha Duryee, born about 1830 as her age in the 1850 Nunda census is given as 20. This appears to be the "Mattie" stated in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda to have married John CROZIER, of Oakland, New York. Martha(7) is not named in the probate notices used here, which seems to indicate that she was not alive in January1886, and did not have offspring.

7-429. Amanda Duryee, age given in the 1850 Nunda census as 16, or born ±1834, date of death not discovered, married Ambrose CLAPP. There is no reference to Amanda in the aforementioned probate notices regarding her father's estate, and it appears that she was not alive in January 1886, when the notices commence, nor that she had offspring.

7-430. John Conklin Duryee, called "J. Conklin Duryee" in the Centennial History of the Town of Nunda, stated in the 1850 Nunda census to then be aged 15, rendering a birth year of about 1835, but archival notes at the Livingston Historian's Office state he was born in 1836, died at Nunda, New York on 3 November 1891 [obit Mt. Morris Union, p. 3], buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Nunda, New York. It has been noted that this son, listed as "J.C." Duryee in the 1875 New York State Census, continues to live with his parents in Nunda and his age is given as 40 years in that enumeration. On 10 April 1878, John married Helen A. LaAMPHERE, whose parentage awaits discovery, and they had: Winifred Duryee, date of birth not discovered, date of death not discovered, married James JACKSON; John Conklin Duryee, Jr., born circa 1888, died 29 October 1900, aged 13 (buried with his father at the Oakwood Cemetery); and Chester C. Duryee. In the public notices referred to herein, John is referred to as J.C. Duryee, of Nunda. He is given power to act as the agent for the Bogart heirs then living in Chicago, as noted under Elizabeth Duryee, wife of Egbert Bogart.

7-431. Frances E. Duryee, presumably the Uphema [Euphemia] Duryee, aged 10, listed with the family in the 1850 census and born about 1840, married David, or Davis, ROBERTS. In January 1886, Francis (sic) Roberts petitioned the Surrogates Court at Geneseo, Livingston County, New York to probate the will of her late father William Rynex Duryee, precipitating the public notices referred to regarding the William Rynex Duryee family group. At that time, she resided in Nunda, New York.

7-432. Harriet N. Duryee, listed in the 1850 Nunda census as Harriet, aged 8, or born circa 1842, date of death not discovered, married (1) Charles BIGSBY, married (2) (______) FIGER. In the probate notices regarding her father's estate, Harriet is referred to as "Harriet E. FOSS, of Napa City, California." Our present state of knowledge does not allow us to conclude whether she married a third time to Mr. Foss, or whether her second husband was Foss, not Figer, or if the newspaper notices misspelled her married name.

Thank you for any and all assitance,

Richard
