Cheers Richard, Yes, thanks, I had found that tidbit as well on the Internet. I do feel that following Anna Maria Duryea Jones' "trail" back to Jersey City after the death of her husband William Henry might lead to other relatives (there were many, as I'm sure you know, in the Jersey City area). Her son (and she may have had more than one child, but I have no knowledge of other children at this time) may also have lived there. I have not yet learned of his wife's actual name or where they lived but he, too, as stated, is buried with his parents in Dale Cemetery. Additional tibdit: there is a plot there reserved for Henry Duryea Jones' wife but it has not been used. There are connections to the JONES/DURYEAs of the names MOTT, BLOODGOOD (aka Bludgood, etc.) and YALE, as well. Some may be from the Duryea side of the tree. Will let you know if and as I find more on these. The only Henry Jones I can find in 1920 in either NY or NJ who would seem to fit with Henry Duryea Jones is the one living in Bedford, Westchester, NY. He is listed with a wife Ella, I believe, no children, but also a brother, Leander Jones (age 69) which kind of throws things off a bit (to be he)...but not impossible. Esp. IF his father had been married previously (before marrying Anna Duryea at age 44). Leander is the name of my ancestors' son who - IF there is a connection (still a very big IF at this point) would have been this "Leander" (and Henry) Jones' cousin. I'd be curious to hear why you think this particular Duryea family cannot be so easily documented (as the others appear to be)? Any theories on the subject? I am wondering if the Mott and Yale connects might prove fruitful for Anna and will pursue those, as well. I have posted to several forums on genforum the listing of those buried in the Ann Elizabeth MOTT plot in Dale Cemetery so hopefully someone will see those and have more info to add as to how they are intertwined (if, in fact, they are). All for now. Notify Administrator about this message?
