Dear Duryea & Duryee Family GenForum Attendees, Users and Afficionados,

For those of you who have not quite "mastered" navigation in-and-about the various GenForums, and begging the indulgence of those who have, please note that the Duryea-Livingston persons discussed under Fritz's thread here are discussed more fully on the Vanderwater Family Genforum, commencing at:

http://genforum.genealogy.com/vandewater/messages/77.html

Had you clicked on either Fritz's or my name in the 'addresser' window, you will have been taken to that list of posts to all GenForums by either of us. This works for all posters to all GenForums.

Anyway, from the Vanderwater Family GenForum, we see that the discussion is about two different Catherines Duryea, from different Duryea lines.

I would like to take this opportunity to note that, if your personal Duryea/Duryee gedcom is based upon LDS/IGI information, then half of what you have "developed" is wrong. The other half is usually half-wrong.

If I may, please let me set a benchmark: if "it" was published before, say, 1945, please do not "use" it.

Just start over. The data-source, if real, was there and is still there. Otherwise, please do State Your Sources.

Else you may never know the value of that source, nor whether it may truly be relied upon.

Richard
