For the record, there is not now, nor has there ever been, a place called Bedford in Long Island City (the place I lived in before moving here to Ohio--in fact, Long Island City did not exist in 1803/4, or for many years after).

Bedford village on Long Island was in Kings County (Brooklyn) and there does not appear to be any connection with this Bedford and the Duryea-Mumford family, of New York City and Connecticut, except in the imagination of whomever it was who made the submission of this erroneous data to the IGI.

If this bit of typical IGI mis-direction is in your database, please remove it --for the sake of those who come after.

Richard
