A note to add to the parent query. In reference to my query concerning Richard Cornell Duryea, I find the following information which may pertain to this same gentleman. If so, this would place him among friends and acquaintances of the Onderdonck family in Manhasset, North Hempstead, Long Island, and perhaps suggests that Richard is from among Duryeas from that area. Onderdonck Diary entry: http://www.manhasset.org/history/19c-d.html "Sept. 22, 1853--Richard C. Duryea and S. (Sanford) spent evening came as we finished tea: 6 and staid till 1 o'clock--we played cards, played on piano, danced Mazourka, and Schottische. Sang, talked had grapes, peaches and cake. Le premier homme ecrivit dans mon album--avec un crayon..." I cannot say who the "S." visitor is, arriving with Richard C. Duryea, who is further identified in the abstract here as "Sanford", but note that there was a Sanford Bennet Duryea of the same era and living in Manhasset after his return from Australia (he had joined his brother Townsend Duryea in Australia in 1854, but returned about 10 years later to Long Island and settled in Manhasset). The Duryeas of Manhasset & Cow Neck (Port Washington) are not well documented and I would welcome any information on this branch from readers. Thanks, Richard
