Hello Anne,
I believe Richard who had wife Sarah Hampton and lived in Albemarle was ONLY son of the John of Spotsylvania.
Further Richard was not born in 1721 as commonly repeated but born in 1712. The father John Derriet shown in LDS
born ABOUT 1686 of Stinchcombe, Gloucester, England and he married wife Mary BENNETT on 31 Jan 1711.
Then I find Richard Derret married Elizabeth MOSSE on 26 May 1687 at Saint Augustine the Less, Bristol, Gloucester,E.
Would love to receive your data on these various Durrett lines. Do any Ships lists still survive for John and Mary and children ? (Richard, Ann, Eliz, Sarah and Mary ) If you have made a descendants listing would love to have copy any thing would be wonderful. My email is wrightcroft@earthlink.net
