I am not sure what you are saying. Of course there were two Richard Durretts - your Richard who lived in Albemarle & the other Richard Durrett (1712-1768) who m Sarah Marshall & lived in Spotsylvania. With full documentation, as I referenced earlier, it was Sarah Marshall's Richard Durrett (1712-1768) of Spotsylvania who was the executor of Bartholomew Durretts estate and guardian to his children. Richard Durrett of Albemarle had nothing whatsoever to do with Bartholomew Durrett & his estate or his children. Richard Durrett of Albemarle and Bartholomew Durrett patented land on Prittys Creek - a year apart, along with dozens of other men. It is their ONLY known connection. If you have other documents, court records, chancery, orders, anything - that connects them - please, please post them. I have never found anything to indicate that Bartholomew lived on this land or lived in this area (I have been through order books, processioner reports, court bks, deed bks, chancery papers & more.) Your website states Bartholomew Durrett was born 1698 in Albemarle. Thusly you DO accept the fact that the Durretts were in America by 1698!! You seem to have faith in the theory of ancestry to an elusive & mysterious Paul Parrin Durrett of France. The legend says he was in France or England in 1704. You state Paul Parrin came to Virginia - please post the record / document that puts him in America & connect him to the early Durretts of King and Queen county. I have asked many people about this theory of ancestry. Please post your documents/research! This would be deeply appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
