I find your Bartholomew DURRETT in the Virginia Genealogist 1971 Vol. 15 pp.279-286. I am a descendant of John DURRETT who was a brother to Richard and Bartholomew DURRETT. Bartholomew on 09 Feb 1737 patented 268 acres on Pretty's Creek in Hanover Co., VA.[VA Land Patents, v.17, p510] This land probably fell into Louisa or Albemarle County. He died ca 1762 in Caroline Co., VA[T.E. Campbell, "Colonial Caroline" - Richmond, 1954, p 478] On 13 May 1763 Joel DURRETT chose Richard DURRETT as his guardian and Benjamin WINN was appointed guardian for Mary and Dorothy DURRETT.[Caroline Co., VA Order Book 1759-63, P.426. There is much, much, much more on the DURRETT family in this article and the other articles printed by the VA Geneologist. I have photocopies of all of the articles and will be glad to share any information you are interested.
