There is documentation to prove that Thomas was the son of Francis Durrett II:
"At July Court 1791 Newberry District South Carolina a petition of Benedict (Benjamin) Durrett, Lucy Rice, William Durrett and Francis Durrett was presented in Court ordered that the clerk set the County seal to a Power of Attorney & send to the state of Virginia empowering James Kelley to obtain their Sequis belonging to them left by their Grandfather Francis Durrett & Aunt Rebekah Durrett." James Kelly (Agnes married 2nd James Kelly) was their stepfather and this proves that Francis was the father of Thomas.
