Hi Jean: Thank you for replying to my message. I have the book written by Aline Desrochers Brazeau, La Famille Desrochers. It does not mention Martin Jerome as one of the children of Francois LaFleur dit Desrochers dit Frappe. She is researching this now. Please consider the following: Jean-Baptiste Durocher (1802-1857) born in Canada, the son of French Canadian parents. The name is also found as Derocher; first name also given as John; his probably dit name: Jean Baptiste Frappe, also Frapp; early member of the Chicago Catholic congregation in April 1833 his name was on the petition by citizens to Bishop Rosati asking that a priest be assigned to them. He was the "John Derosche" who married the youngest of the Ouilmette girls, Josette (Marriane Josephte) (1820-1894). They had 11 children: Francoise (b. 1836) Jean Baptiste (b. 1836) Joseph Pierre (b. 1839) Gabriel (b. 1841) Olivier (b. 1842) Lizette (b. 1843) Isadore (b. 1846) William (b. 1847) Louise (b. 1850) Francis (b. 1854) and Rose Ann (b. 1856) After 1835, he and his family settled with the Potawatomis on the banks of the Kansas River, Potawatomie County, as one of the first white settlers under the name J.B. Frapp; still listed under that name in the 1850 census. J.B. Frapp is buried in the Louisville Cemetery in Potawatomie County KS. I am trying to find out the names of this Jean-Baptiste's parents. That was the intent of my query concerning Martin Jerome and Marie Jeanne Reaume. Thanks for any assistance from all of you Desrochers out there. David F.
