Betty -

Here's the best I cam do.

In 1815, two Durnils were taxed ib Grayson County - Eli and John, the latter my ancestor Both were children of James and Phebe Durnil, the first Durnils in what became Grayson. In 1809 Eli married Biddy Chance.

In 1850 Boone County, Mo, Henderson had sons named William, Eli, James, Benjamin F. and Jerome. His wife had died recently and Eli remarried in Oct, 1850.

When I checkout Chance names in Grayson, I find Benjamin F., John, William. All lived in the Quaker area of Grayson with Durnil kinsmen Dalton, Lundy, others. Benjamin F. was born 1753 in Chester County, Pa (as were Durnils) and died 1817 in Grayson, age 77 (this does not compute) so he was likely the father of the other Chances there.

Henderson was in Lee County, Va in 1840 as were John 20/30 and William "Durnal" 20/30. Benjamin F. was about age fifty years old when these were born, 35 for Eli, not at all impossible but William and John could have been grandsons. Henderson was likely a son of Eli and Biddy, not of John and Diannah, my ancestors. They had an Eli born 1823 who was in Carroll County, Mo in 1870.

- Ken
