I just started searching but my Grandmother was Ellen Durkan or Durkin in the US. Born to John Durkan ( a farmer) and Catherine Durkan on July 8 1892. Present at her Birth was Bridget Durkan. Their home was Ballincurry Tobercurry Sligo. Ellen had sisters that I knew named Annie and Katie (Gannon) who lived in Los Angeles. Ellen married Patrick Dowd in Los Angeles. Having seen a family photo when I was young I know they had a very large family of sibs in Ireland and other areas. I haven't been to Sligo on my trips to Ireland but certainly next time.
