Dear Joni,
This is a very complicated family. I have done a lot of work on the family and have, actually met several of them. William Henry was born 25 MAR 1873 in Colebrook, Coos County, N. H., the son of William Henry and Persis (Lombard) Durkee.
He was first married to Libbie Elliott, (22 APR 1896 in Lebanon, NH) the daughter of Gaylord Elliot. Apparently she was unwell and her niece came to visit. This ended up with William divorcing Libbie and marrying (this is in question as the marriage record has never been found) Vera Talbot (the niece) about 1915. William and Vera had seven children. The home situation was very unstable and William was away much of the time. John especially suffered as he seemed to take the brunt of the situation. Vera was born 18 OCT 1892 in Lebanon the daughter of Arthur Elmer and Agnes Graham (Elliot) Talbot. Agnes' father was Galen A. Elliott.
