I am looking for any information on the Durkin Family of Scranton, PA...
My Great Grandfather was William Durkin (1) (b. 1890-1900?).
He married Edith Allen (b. 1890-1900? Welsh decent).
They had 2 children (?):
Ruth Dolores Durkin (b. September 15 192?) who married Thomas Francis Ford, and;
William Dukin (2) (who I think had a son Robert? who died in 1987?).
My greatgrandfather William Durkin (1) died around 1958.
Ruth & Thomas Ford (b. Oct 12, 1922 d. Sept 12, 1996) had 4 children:
Ann Marie
Edith Eileen
John Paul (b. Feb 15, 1951--my dad) and;
Thomas Gerard
From stories I heard when I was younger (I wish I had paid closer attention) The Durkins came from either Sligo or Mayo Ireland.
I have very limited resources since my grandma (Ruth Durkin Ford) developed alzheimers several years ago. Any information what-so-ever would be greatly appreciated.
