Richard Durfee, grandson of the original Thomas Durfee was born in Portsmouth, R.I. in 1687. He was the son of Richard Durfee and Ann Almy. Richard, JR. had a sister Mary , b. 1689; brother, Thomas , b. 1691; sister, Ann, b. 1693; Hope b. 1695 and Amey, b. 1697.. The father, Richard died in 1700 in Portsmouth and his widom married Benjamin Jefferson. The author of the Durfee genealogy, Wm. F. Reed states in the book that he could find no descendants of the second Richard. Durfee. Does anyone know anything about this family.
