Polly, I'm 99% per cent sure, we have a connection..My grandfather was Elias Preston Durbin..Missouri/Idaho...he was named after his uncle...Elias Preston Durbin of Kentucky/Washington..Uncle Press was married to A Molly Ann Simms/Alice Rasner. Between the two women there was Alta Peterson Durbin, Ted Durbin and changed Dudley Howard name to Durbin.
Uncle Press brother's and sister's were many..The ones I know about are: Silas Durbin, who married Elizabeth Belle Simms, Pike (Pious) Durbin married Katherine Simms, and had two sons, and one daughter and adopted one other son. Elias Preston Durbin, Lloyd Durbin, Elsie Brickner Durbin, and Brose Durbin.
Pike, Silas, and Press Durbin were born in Kentucky.
Yakima, Washington and Twin Falls, Idaho are two important areas where the clan is buried..Silas wife is buried in California..Silas...I'm not sure yet...still looking..Belle and Silas might of divorced, and he might of married someone else, or he could of died young...??? I have a Silas Durbin born May 30, 1913, Died June 12, 1990 Kentucky...but I don't know if he's the one I'm looking for.
I have alot more data, if it turns out that Olson Francis Franklin Durbin/Margaret Ashcraft is these three's parents..I have death certificate on Pike/Press..apparently knowone knew who the parents were.
I'm wondering if they were orphans..that would explain
Cousins: that my grandfather Press ran around with was Ernest and Elba Durbin. They were all from Missouri.
