We have been searching for information on JAMES DURBIN, who is listed on the 1870 census for Avena, Fayette, St. Elmo, Illinois.
We, of course, would like to find his ancestors.
Our James was 20 years old in 1870 and living with another JAMES DURBIN, aged 50, who was born in Maryland. The older James had a wife named Ruth. Also, listed with James and Ruth were:Urah Durbin 18, Mary Evert, Martha Daniel, Lyza Daniel and Martha Sapp.
The younger James Durbin is my Great Grandfather. He was first married to a Susan. He later moved to Randolph County, Mo. and married Olive Armstrong.
Thank you for any information.Virginia Raef
