Ok I recieved the obit for Cecile... her parents are listed as Joseph and Leonie Durant, and she was born in Van Buren, Maine. Ok easy enough right? I go to the censuse... 1930 Van Buren... I should find a 7 year old Cecile and her siblings. I find a household with her parents and 2 kids both older than her, they are not known to me, but I am not concerned because they only siblings I know about are the survivors in her obit. Thing is the no child under 12 is living there and the parents are child bearing age and none of the surviving siblings are living there. Right time, right place, right age, right birthplaces, but no young children. Everything adds up EXCEPT the rest of the children aren't there. I can't find Cecile again until she marries in Lewiston, Maine in 1943. My thoughts are that the children that were too young to help farm were maybe sent to a relative or something along those lines. The 30's were a hard time. Lewiston is a long way away at that time period for poor people. Anyone that has a clue or an idea... please let me know. At the moment I am manually going through the census page by page because that is the only think I can think of. Thank you Gina Notify Administrator about this message?
