In my humble opinion, I feel you are in error on the origin of the name DURANT. There is only one exception DURAND and DURANT are usually related. Durant is a French name as it stands, still found in the old Norman area of France. The majority of North American Durants originated either in France or England. The Durants migrated to England about the year 1000.
