Hi Fran , The medical condition is called Malignant Hypothermia. To my knowledge it came into the Dupuis line from Ottilia Dupuis who married Charles Caza. Ottilia was the daughter of Josephat Dupuis and Elizabeth Chretien. In a family if one parent has M.H. then the child usually has a 50% chance of being M.H. reactor. It is important to remember that for every child in whom the condition appears there is a chance that some of his or her children will have it too, There can be generation skipping. The disease affects French Canadians, Central European and Italian, Norwegian, and Welsh descent. It is rare among blacks and unusually common among Japanese.
