I am one of those Sumter County, GA Dupree's, and have been collecting data on this family for forty years.
This week I just published a 750 page book on Descendants of the three 1700 Dupree emigrants to VA - Thomas, John, and Lewis. My book contains extensive data on the Dupree's you refer to above.
Harod Dupree is my ancestor. He was the eldest son of John Dupree, Jr., who was a son of John Dupree, Sr.
who died 1788 in Brunswick Co., VA, who was a son of emigrant Lewis Dupree, Sr.
It is my opinion that Sarah Dupree who mar. lst. James Richmond Ballue and 2nd Harbert Smith, Jr. was a sister of Herod and a daughter of John Dupree, Jr. and Rebecca Wyche.
