inherited some land in Randolph County NC (Asheboro). Told that it had been in family for several hundred years and tracing roots down, but stuck. Have traced it back to being the last of 5 inherited parts (split up between 1850-1900 and later) of an original 400 acre Dupree tract of land going back to at least early 1800s and probably 1700s. I think the land goes back to another Great+++ grandfather (John or James) Dupree in the 1700s and that's what I'm trying to find out. My great great grandmother Martha Ann Baldwin (Dupree) (1830-1901) lived on and had 2/5s of the farm in 1901. She and her Uncle James Dupree(abt 1800-late 1800s) and his heirs 4 or them) apparently worked/inherited the 400 acres. She aquire 2/5 shares (bought 1 out in 1868 and inherited the other) My great great grandfather David Washington Baldwin married Martha Ann Dupree in 1849 and they lived/worked/had childen on part of the Randolph County Dupree tract. Rest of Dupree heirs sold out their part (3/5s) in 1903 and Balwins sold 1 of 2 of their parts in 1937. I've got the last being past down. Martha Anns father's parents were John/Sara Dupree and her Uncle and his wife were James/Elizabeth Dupree. I believe her Uncle James and Dad John were both born in early 1800s (like 1804 time frame). I'm trying to find out what James and Johns father's name was and if he got that land through an NC Land Grant. Also, I don't see Dupree lineage on websites for Randolph County NC.
