I am doing an extensive family history for my children, who are direct descendents from several Ojibwa Chiefs. I would appreciate it if you could help me fill in the missing pieces. Here is what I do know.

First generation was Chief Kioscance.

Second generation was Shignebeck, born in 1720 and died in 1830 in Sarnia, Canada.

Third generation, Nawegeshegoqua (or known as Granny Rodd or Old Mother Rodd to the people in Port Huron, Michigan, where she was an herbalist and very famous in the area. Her brothers were Onsha and Ogotig.

Granny Rodd's birthdate is unsure, but she lived to over 109 years of age and died in 1870 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. She married a man be the name of Rodd (I do not know the first name - but would like to) who was born in France and was 1/2 Native American. He died in 1812 as a result of a Native American skirmish on the Black River, in Port Huron, Michigan.

Granny Rodd and Rodd had at least three children, one named Addina, who was born in Canada and died in 1909. Another daughter, name unknown, married Peter Dupre of Cottrellville, Michigan. He was born in 1800 and was a blacksmith and registered voter in the 1820 census there. A third daughter married a man with the last name of Minnie and lived in Port Huron.

Addina married a man with the last name of Parrow. From there, I have all of the other names, dates, etc., that lead down to my children. But I would like to fill in the correct names, dates, places of birth, spouses full names, childrens full names, interesting stories, etc., so any help would be appreciated.

I do have a picture of Granny Rodd or Nawegeshegoqua, but not of any of the other far distant relatives.

Diane
