J. LaCour states in her book on Avoyelles parish that Meriel and Edvise's children, Fernand and J. B. Dupont were raised by her parents, Azelie Guillot and George Guillot. They also raised Edvise's son by her first marriage to Valerien Guillot, Pierre Guillot as well as Felicia and Joseph Goudeau after the Goudeaus died of measles in 10/1876.
Edvise died in 1879.
Do you know if Meriel Dupont was related to Pierre Dupont family of Plaucheville & Dupont?
