CORRECTION!!! I'm sorry, but the date for the marriage of Charles Dupont and Marie Rose Nucere should be 7 Nov. 1814, NOT 27 Mar. 1838! The latter date is for the marriage of Jean Baptiste Dupont (son of Charles Dupont and Marie Rose Nucere) and Marie Celanire Guillory. So, the dates do match! Furthermore, I'm convinced that Marie Rose Nucere (the "woman of color") and Charles Dupont are the parents of all of the children I have listed in my last message. As far as Elizabeth Dupont, the baptism records from St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura, LA, reads that she was born 8 Jul. 1831, bapt. 25 Aug. 1831, dgt. of Charles Dupont and Marie Rose Saucier (Nucere?). The same church lists Elizabeth Dupont m. 6 Apr. 1847 to James B. Smith. However, for this marriage, no parents are listed, but Jean Baptiste Dupont was a witness (her older brother?).
