In duing some work on my own family background , I found that Celestin Dupont, daughter of charles and Marie Rose Nucere, married Augelien Gagnard on August 27, 1838. It is recorded that Jean Baptiste Broussard granted his permission for the marriage because he was the ttor to Celestin. Brides' Book of Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana Volume 1, Page 27, by Jeraldine Dufour Lacour. Information taken from Book B-1 of the "Marriage Books of the Avoyelles Parish Court House, Marksville, Louisiana."
Have you checked the records of the Dioceses of Opelousas for the marriage record of Charles and Marie Rose?
