My Dunsmore line is as follows:
I. William D. Dunsmore b. abt 1806 NC d. bef 1880
II. Preston Dunsmore b.1828 TN d.aft 1880
III. Thomas Dunsmore b. 1862 TN d.1956 IL
IV. Frank Benton Dunsmore b.1892 IL d. 1970 OK
V. Paul Thomas Dunsmore b. 1924 CO d. 2002 OK
Any information on William D. Dunsmore's parentage would be greatly appreciated. Many researchers and some books have stated that he was born in Ireland, but the census records have North Carolina as where he was born....I've read some exerpts from other researchers and it actually states he was of Irish Descent....not born there, so inclined to believe the census.
There is some confusion about William D. Dunsmore and his wife "Massa/Mossy/Amassa Crutchfield also....There was a Moses Dunsmore who married a Mary "Polly" Crutchfield and lived in close proximity in Grainger Co., TN....I believe these two Crutchfield girls to be from different families..not sure if Moses and William could be related or not.
