Seeking parents of Samuel DUNSMORE alias DINSMORE,
born abt. 1754 [place unknown], died 14 Feb 1802,
aged 48 years, on Steel Creek, York Co., SC. Buried
Old Unity (Presbyterian) Church Cem., now in Fort
Mill, SC. Samuel was married to Mary FARIES who
later married her cousin James FARIES (both bur.
Old Concord Cem., York Co., SC).
Samuel & Mary had three children:
Dorcas, Elizabeth, and Moses (?).
Samuel was a Revolutionary patriot. He had a
Catawba Indian lease of land on Steel Creek in
York Co., SC, between 1787-1801.
There is a Mary DUNSMORE, (possibly Samuel's rela-
tive,) died 2 Oct 1790 Steel Creek, Mecklenburg
Co., NC, aged 75 years, buried at Old Steele
Creek Presb. Church cemetery, near Charlotte, NC.
