Joseph Brittain Dunn, Sr. is my GGG Grandfather.
The information I have shows that Joseph Brittain Dunn, Sr. was b. 10 Aug 1824 in Dallas County, Alabama and his parents are John Briscoe Dunn, b. 1785, VA; d. 1862, Calhoun Co., AR and Martha Barnes Simms (Samms?), b. 28 Aug 1793 in Wayne Co., VA; d. 17 Sep 1850, Calhoun Co., AR; m. 6 Dec. 1810, Columbia Co., GA.
The info I have shows John Briscoe Dunn's parents to be William Judson Dunn (b. 1754, VA) and Beatrice Briscoe (b. abt 1759, VA). I don't have verification of this, as it's old family info and I'm not sure where it originated.
Since diving into the Dunns, I've seen Joseph Brittain Dunn, Sr. listed as having John Dunn and Emily Maner as his parents, as well. It seems that his father was indeed named John, but I cannot find "John Briscoe Dunn" anywhere, nor can I find William Judson Dunn, or Beatrice Briscoe.
I'm hoping someone can straighten me out. Any help (including telling me my information is just dead wrong) would be appreciated.
