Mary,
I am one of the 70+ members of the Dunn DNA project. We have found some interesting things going through the DNA findings. Some markers are much more important than others. Some change on average every 200 years; others almost never. I can tell you that I am closely related to the NJ Dunns. I have been contacted by at least 3 other Surnames that had matches of 35 out of 37 markers with mine. They were Knowles, Kimballs, and one other that I will have to look up. In the Case of the Kimballs; they were also in New Jersey at the same time as my family. So, I assume there could be some connection. With the Knowles, the closest we have determined there might be in about 1500AD.
I have a study that I did for the Dunns on how they grouped out. But if you let me know which had close matches that would be helpful.
Thanks,
